KCA has completed the redevelopment of a former head office site for Old For Housing into 8 affordable family houses. The houses have now been moved into.
The project consist of 3x3 bedroom houses, 3x4 bedroomhouses and 2x5 bedroom houses reinstated in the urban grain of the area and opening up the norther end of Usher Road which was previously blocked by a 2 story temporary office structure.
At the heart of the site a private amenity space has been created as an extension of Usher Road onto which 6 units face. The remaining two of which one is wheelchair accessible, face onto Armagh Road. Other than a parking space for the wheelchair unit, it is a car free scheme.
The project includes a "holly berry" art work by Helena Rodden, who is responsible for several other art works in the area in the same style and plant theme.
